Krit Tankanarat / Ambassador of Thailand to Argentina since 2022, concurrently accredited to Paraguay and Uruguay. Career diplomat, previously served as Consul-General of Thailand in Osaka and Minister Counsellor in Canberra, as well as in diplomatic positions in Tokyo and Pretoria. In Argentina, he has promoted bilateral trade, investment and cooperation, particularly in agriculture, pharmaceuticals and the automotive sector, and actively participates in the ASEAN Committee in Buenos Aires.

Grace T. Cruz-Fabella / Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Philippines to Argentina, concurrently accredited to Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay. She joined the Philippine Foreign Service in 1996 and has held diplomatic positions at the Philippine Embassies in Moscow, Singapore and Rome, as well as at the APEC Secretariat. She has also worked on bilateral and multilateral policy at the Department of Foreign Affairs. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science from Miriam College, with postgraduate studies in International Studies and further training in diplomacy and economic development.

Sulaiman Syarif / Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia to Argentina since 2023, concurrently accredited to Uruguay and Paraguay. Career diplomat since 1991, previously served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indonesian Embassy in Brussels, accredited to Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union. He specializes in legal affairs and treaties and has participated in international negotiations on trade, investment, human rights, security and economic cooperation. He has also served at the Indonesian Embassies in Athens, The Hague and Brussels. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of North Sumatra and a postgraduate degree in American Studies from the University of Indonesia.

Ngo Minh Nguyet / Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Argentina since April 2024, concurrently accredited to Paraguay and Uruguay. Career diplomat since 1996, she has served at the Vietnamese Embassies in the United Kingdom, Laos and Switzerland, where she was Minister Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission. She also held senior positions at the National Interpretation and Translation Center and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the National University of Hanoi and a Master’s degree in International Relations from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. She speaks English, French and Spanish.

Jarin Sijaya Binti Abdul Hathi / Counsellor and Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of Malaysia in Argentina since August 2026. Career diplomat, previously served as Counsellor and Head of Chancery at the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok. She has held several positions at Malaysia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs related to ASEAN, regional cooperation, diplomatic training and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and served as First Secretary at the Embassy of Malaysia in Moscow. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia and diplomas in Public Administration and Diplomacy.

Contexto:

En medio de la actual competencia estratégica global y la proliferación de visiones sobre el Indo-Pacífico, la Asociación de Naciones del Sudeste Asiático (ASEAN) anunció en 2019 su Visión para el Indo-Pacífico (AOIP), buscando consolidar un escenario de cooperación por sobre la confrontación y preservar la centralidad del bloque. Frente a esta dinámica, este panel analiza el rol de la AOIP como respuesta de la asociación para reconstruir el equilibrio estratégico y fomentar la coordinación regional. El Seminario se centrará en conocer las perspectivas de la política exterior de cada uno de los países de la ASEAN que cuentan con Embajadas en Argentina, como también la visión actual de la ASEAN sobre la región del Indo Pacífico bajo la presidencia de Filipinas.
